Chris is an experienced environmental specialist with over 30 years work and consultancy experience on numerous UK and international projects concerned with the environmental assessment and management of major engineering projects including power stations, onshore and offshore oil and gas, petrochemical installations, waste energy plants, pipelines, water resources schemes, transport infrastructure, commercial and residential developments. His specialist areas of expertise include air quality assessments, contaminated land, biogeochemistry, environmental impact assessment and environmental management including the development of environmental management systems to ISO 14001. Chris's environmental experience includes the establishment of environmental monitoring facilities for major power station projects, compliance auditing, preparation of environmental impact reports covering new facilities, and site selection studies. He has been responsible for a number of integrated pollution control projects for energy, chemical and waste management companies, and for various environmental risk assessment and management projects for clients in the oil and gas industry. His experience includes work carried out for Shell-Nigeria and Agip-Nigeria advising and reviewing offshore and near shore spill containment, recovery options and operations, as well as conducting shoreline assessments, aerial observation of spill trajectory, and spill preparedness and response systems. Eric also worked for BP-USA at the Macondo well blow-out in the Gulf of Mexico where he acted as the liaison between the response branch offices, incident command and the response teams in the Louisiana Parishes providing advice and guidance on the ICS process, best management practices and technical advice on various forms of shoreline clean–up operations. He has worked for Mabruk Oil-Libya and ExxonMobil-Nigeria on offshore operations, training contractors and ship crews on offshore deployment strategies and equipment training, carrying out shoreline surveys, preparing and updating incident action plans and clean-up operations. Eric also has experience in oil spill response preparedness auditing and reviews, re-evaluation of risk assessment, and in making recommendations on spill management structure and equipment.
